Now This is CRAZY?

We are in unprecedented times with the Corona Virus and “Stay at Home” orders and this just adds to the unrest for many of us dealing daily with what some call a “new normal.”  My counselor never saw this coming when she guided me for what I might be coping with in the coming months after my wife passed last April.  Wow, what a different world we are in today than just months ago!!!  I sit here almost in disbelief that my wife isn’t here to experience this.  Part of me is so relieved that she didn’t have to be in a worried state over our sons with such a health crisis.  And then there is me still asking is this real without her?  Is she really gone??  How Lord?

My Spouse Would Have Been a Big Help Now.

It’s just me.  It’s just you.  Here we are friends as widows and widowers living the dream or the nightmare or whatever in between.  That’s us and yes my wife was such a big help.  Here I am sick with bronchitis and not wanting to worry others.  My wife would have known exactly what to do.  We all are living in the now but we haven’t forgotten the many good things our spouses brought to the table as our helpers.  God, thank you for the memories of our partners who helped us so much to make it this far.  Our love is what makes the sting of death so strong.  I know it’s hard friends for so many of you and I just want to say yes this is real.  It’s a very real struggle for all of us on different levels.

God, what do you have for us in such a time?  We get that this is our portion in life.  Help us and direct us in your higher ways.  Look below at what I have from God’s unfailing Word and let’s keep struggling together.  It’s what we do.

Romans 12 is about dedicating our lives to God.  Don’t become like the people of the world, but rather offer your body and life up as a sacrifice.  Look outward.  Rom. 12:2 says to change the way we think.  Remember and realize what God has given you as a believer.  We are connected to one another in Christ, YES EVEN WITH “STAY AT HOME” ORDERS, we are connected friends.  Don’t be lazy in showing your devotion and use your energy to serve the Lord in some capacity.  Share what you have with God’s people who are in need.  Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil with good.  (Read Romans chapter 12)
